About Us
Our Story
After living and working in NYC as a clothing designer since graduating from FIT in 1993, marriage and a newborn brought our family to Port Washington, NY in 2008. Falling in love with the local community, I took a leap of faith and opened Initial Stop in a tiny brick and mortar shop on lower Main Street in 2012 with one industrial machine. Over the first 8 years in business, the Port Washington shop expanded and outgrew that cherished space and relocated to Boca Raton, Florida. We now have 4 multi head Melco machines and are online and social media based. I love the creativity and everything about the computer graphics involved - everyday is a new opportunity to custom create thoughful, personalized gifts and help logos come to life through thread art.

Custom Orders
Initial Stop carries a large selection of embroidery blanks and all our prices include custom embroidered personalization.
We also specialize in embroidering logos - email to inquire dawn@initialstop.com
Machines and Materials
We do all our embroidery work on premises on multi head industrial machines - we do not outsource via 3rd party embroiderers.
